Our Story | Borohouse

It started with a simple question..

Why does every glass food container have a plastic lid?

You buy glass for a reason — you want your food to taste right, to stay fresh, to be free from things you can't pronounce. Then you close the lid and the very food you wanted to protect is touching plastic.

That didn't make sense to us.

In 2023, we set out to change that. Borohouse was founded on the belief that food deserves better — that it should only touch glass, never plastic. Not just for taste, not just for safety, but because the things we use every day should reflect the quality of life we want to live.

We spent 18 months engineering an all-glass lid that seals as well as plastic, lasts longer than plastic, and looks better than plastic. We tested dozens of designs. We broke a lot of glass. And slowly, we got it right — a tempered glass lid with a silicone seal that clicks shut every time.

The result is Borohouse — glass food storage, reimagined from top to bottom.

Today, Borohouse serves tens of thousands of households across North America. From busy parents to fitness enthusiasts, from home chefs to minimalists — people who care about what goes into their bodies, and what goes into their kitchens.

We make containers for people who pay attention to the details. Because the small things — what your food touches, how long it stays fresh, how it looks on your shelf — add up to something big.

Our Mission
